Construction has been moving ever forward but slowly.  We had about a two week delay while waiting for special order lumber to make it’s way across the Pacific.  That part is finally over and the crew is making a lot of gains.  If everything goes as planned, we should have the house core and shell complete and dried in by the first week of August, then pluming rough in can began followed by electrical.  It’s very exciting to see the house come together but it’s a scary feeling watching your bank account go from full, to empty, to in debt.  We haven’t signed on for the debt part yet but it is inevitable if we want to see the house completed anytime soon.  Our goal is to have it complete by years end.  The most recent photo seen here was taken yesterday.  As you can see, the first floor, floor joists are all installed and coming along nicely, framing should be complete for this portion soon.  I’ve also included a photo of the King and Queens thrown. I’m in the process of building something around it so that you can stay dry while using it.  I was planning on picking up an umbrella as a temporary solution for pooping in the rain but the one I put in the cart at Walmart the other day was $15.00 so I left it on a random shelf in the store.  After I get all of the base course spread around our concrete footings for the foundation at the house I will build a more permanent structure around the toilet.  As it sits now, as long as its not raining, it’s probably one of the most beautiful and peaceful places to use the bathroom.  I joke and regularly tell Bonny to close the door.  I’m pretty sure it’s no longer funny to her but I still find it amusing.

I’m doing my very best to take photos of all the progress on the house.  It’s increasingly difficult to find the time to blog but we are working on it and will continue to make a valiant effort.  I hope everyone is still checking in regularly to see what we’ve been up to.  Don’t forget to refresh the page so you don’t miss anything we might have posted.
