Ohana is Hawaiian for family. Most people here have some type of small family house located on their property. We are planning on building ours first and then after completing the main home we will have a guest or Ohana house for all you friends and family when you come visit. You are saving to come visit, aren’t you??

In preparation for the guest house we’ve been clearing a new spot on our land so we don’t in crouch on the main house pad area we’ve already had leveled. For a solid two and a half days we have been up rooting trees (1 to 3 inches in diameter), clearing debris and then collecting yards of lava rock and placing them in the cleared area for leveling. Hopefully this will provide a solid base for the small home and prevent any settling. We still have about two more full days of work to complete the area but here are some pictures to give you a small taste of our progress. This has all been done by hand.
