With 2016 here now, we have a new list of goals to complete by years end.  2015 ended with us showering (outside) on our property for the first time ever (December 31st, 2015).  Doesn’t sound like much right?  Well it is!  With the water tank set up and filled we have had the pleasure of adding an out door sink so we now have running water to do dishes and wash our hands in.  We have two separate hoses hooked to the water tank, one is 150′ and the other 100′.  The rain has let up and we are some what entering a winter drought.  The up side of that being lots of beautiful sun shine.  By leaving the hoses in the sun we’ve had enough warm water to shower at home, all of this takes place outside in the birthday suit but it makes for an incredibly beautiful area to clean yourself.  The only thing you have to worry about is sun burning areas that normally wouldn’t see that much sun ; )

  

   
For the last week or so we’ve been working off and on at clearing more land down to the bare lava.  This would be much easier with heavy equipment that we don’t have and can’t afford to rent.  So for the time being it’s a very slow, labor intense process.  The areas you see in these pictures are going to have an outdoor covered cooking area with a permanent out door shower.  I’m still in the design process but I’m hoping to make this dream come true with in a months time but don’t hold me to that.  Currently we have a very nice kitchen area set up in one of the portable garages but it would be nice to set up the kitchen in a more permanent area and start using the garage to store the truck so it doesn’t rust away in the elements.

  Ground breaking on the big house will hopefully begin in February. Keep your fingers crossed for us.
