Friday September 16th was a special day at this Sailer house hold, no we weren’t celebrating Mexico’s independence.  It was my 34th birthday, for those of you who missed it, it’s never to late to send gifts and money.  The roofing materials were also delivered Friday during the day and the crew started roofing the house, what a great birthday gift that was in it’s own right.  Friday night Bonny and I spent at home together, it was a nice quiet evening with a delicious home made meal.  Saturday morning we went into Hilo for the 6th annual “Battle of the Bay”.  A local Jiu Jitsu tournament put on by professor Chris Smith.  It was fairly small in size, most of the competitors were white belts from local academies.  My weight division was stacked with one other competitor.  I won my match and received a gold medal.  It wasn’t my most glorious victory but it wasn’t a bad performance and it was good enough for first, bringing my career total in Jiu Jitsu to 4 gold medals, this was my first gold medal as a blue belt.  After spending all day at the tournament, Bonny and I went out to a nice sushi dinner at a local place we’d never tried before.  All in all Saturday was a great day filled with lots of fun and excitement.  Several of my team mates competed and there were some very exciting matches.  The Roma Team as a whole did a wonderful job with lots of people receiving medals.

In true birthday fashion, the fun didn’t stop there.  On Sunday Bonny, Sig and myself packed into the jeep and headed out on an all day adventure.  We first went to South point and went cliff jumping, followed by a stop at “End of the World” in Kona for more cliff jumping and then we went to the Kona Brewery for dinner.  The cliff jumping was a blast and the food and beer at the brewery was amazing.  We made it home by about 7 o’clock.  I think the whole family was exhausted by days end but it was well worth it.  In years passed I often can’t remember exactly what I did on my previous birthdays, this one should be easy to recall.  Sunday was a great end to an awesome, fun filled weekend.  I couldn’t have been happier with the way everything went.  Thanks to everyone for the birthday well wishes and the gifts.  I don’t have any pictures to post of the house but I’ve included some other ones from this incredible weekend.
