With our dog Sig schedule to arrive this coming Wednesday (February 3rd), and potential employment just around the corner (we hope), we decided a laid back day by the water was in order. Bonny and I packed up the jeep and headed North of Hilo to closer explore some the places I had past on my last motorcycle ride with my friend Dale. We drove to several of the places and briefly viewed them before deciding to spend the majority of the day at this little gem (name unknown).

As you cross the bridge you notice a waterfall on your left that spills from a medium size lava tube, at ground level you can see through the tube and out the other side. After crossing the bridge, parking is on your right. Follow the stream down river for about 60 yards and you come to this amazing waterfall.

After hiking down to the waterfall we returned  to the bridge.  Much to my delight, some locals were jumping off the bridge and I was able to see the safest lonch point (not very safe at all, experts only).  We really liked this place, it only had a handful of people stop to swim and along with the bridge, their are some small rock features you can jump from also.

After leaving the waterfall, lava tube, bridge jump fun zone we stopped at a surf park and soaked up some rays. The park is great for sitting or surfing but it’s not a safe place to swim so we didn’t. Hilo bay is in the background.

This concludes “Water Play Day #1-2016”. Thanks for looking, we hope you enjoyed the post.
