We started painting the out side of the house several days ago  but only got two sides complete before running out of paint, a not so quick trip into town for a full 5 gallons and now we should be on track to have it finished in a day or two weather permitting.  The trim is an elephants skin grey, hopefully one gallon will do it all. Good paint isn’t cheap but I am. You can buy people’s old unwanted paint at the dump for $5 a gallon. I wouldn’t dare use it on the exterior of the house, or anything else I care about for that matter, but it will do just fine protecting other wood items. I found a 5 gallon jug that was completely unopened at the dump, it’s a few years older then I would like but for $25 it will protect a lot of my loose lumber from mildew and mold until I can get it turned into something useful. Fighting mildew and mold here is a never ending battle. Obviously it comes with this new territory and I’m starting to get use to it but it is a big transition from the dry desert I’ve known for so long.

Here is a picture before the trim was painted.

The interior has taken over 5 gallons already and has two complete coats.  I’m really excited to be done with all this painting. It’s taking forever!

Here’s a view from atop the container.

Finally we are 98% complete on the painting portion of this small project. The upper portion still needs one more coat, what a pain in the ass! Literally, my ass hurts from sitting on the corrugated roof and  painting today.

We moved in on Wednesday the second day of December (long before the exterior paint was anywhere near complete)

This is the first step in our journey in this beautiful paradise. We are truly feel blessed to have such a huge, loving support system behind us. In one short month we’ve gone from homeless (hardly)to tiny living and I can honestly say it’s the happiest I think I’ve ever been in my life (aside from missing my friends and family). Thank god for my incredible wife who has been so willing to follow me fearlessly into the jungle on this adventure.
